Pastoral Care Commission
Mission of the Pastoral Care Commission:
To provide spiritual and physical support to our church family, their extended family members, and all those in need of care.
Support Activities Include:
Prayer Chain – Composed of a group of parishioners who provide focused prayers as requested by members of the parish family.
Prayer Shawls- Shawls are knitted or crocheted by parish members, and blessed, to provide comfort and solace in times of need as well as in times of celebration and joy.
Pastoral Caregivers – Provide support by responding with telephone calls, visits,
or notes to those in hospital or at home because of illness.
Shut-in Pastoral Visitors – Make calls and visits to senior members of the parish who are in long term care and are unable to come to church.
Meals – Meals are provided for parishioners and their families after a hospital stay or in times of grief.
Lay Eucharistic Visitors – LEV are a specially trained team who carry Communion
to ill or infirmed parish members upon request.
Healing Prayer Team – Trained parishioners who provide an opportunity to bring God’s living, healing power into our everyday lives and the lives of those we love. This is a confidential ministry of prayer request in the side chapel during worship services.
The Pastoral Care Commission welcomes all to participate in any of the various ministries and services we provide. We are open to any and all suggestions to improve our program of support.
