Youth

EYC stands for Episcopal Youth Community.  Here at Ascension we have an active Junior (6th through 8th graders) and Senior EYC (9th through 12th graders).

Senior EYC is just getting started.  We have had some renewed interest this year and a lot of enthusiasm from a great group of high school students.  We meet three times a month.  Two of the meetings are here at the church and one meeting is generally a fun activity outside of the church.  We have done things like rock climbing, laser tag, movie nights, etc. Our latest adventure was a mission trip to Queens, New York. Our regular meeting time is 6:30 to 8pm on Sundays.

Junior EYC has been going strong all year.  We have had a lock-in, a mall scavenger hunt, roller skating, ice-skating, and many fun meetings at the church.  It follows the same model as the Sr. EYC with 2 meetings at the church and one outside activity.  We meet from 5 to 6:30pm on Sundays.

Y-Now meets the need of people who are too old for senior EYC but do not feel quite ready for the young adult group. It is mainly geared to 18 to 25 years old.  They generally meet once a month.  Elisa Willoughby and Joe Porfert lead that group.
