Food Pantry
The mission of the Ascension Food Pantry is to help feed the hungry in our community.
The Food Pantry is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9:30 to 11:30 AM. Approximately half of our stock is USDA food, the other half is purchased with funds donated by our congregation, money from the church's budget, percentage of the church's Fruit Sale's and gifts and memorials in peoples names. Every time someone comes to the food pantry they must have a referral from a Norfolk City agency, church, hospital etc. They can receive food once every thirty days.
Besides monetary donations, we need workers for the two hour shifts, travel size soap and lotion and large paper bags.
Your donations to the Food Pantry also provides for meals for AIDS patients. Each month, three groups prepare a total of 150 meals which are donated to "Full Circle"
